Commencement of Workover, Completion, and Matrix Acidizing Operations on Gas wells of Phase 14 of South Pars Fields

Workover, completion, and acidizing operations on 22 wells at Platforms A and C of Phase 14 of the South Pars Gas Field have been initiated by Global Petro Tech Kish Company, with the aim of maintaining and increasing gas production capacity.

Workover, completion, and acidizing operations on 22 wells at Platforms A and C of Phase 14 of the South Pars Gas Field have been initiated by Global Petro Tech Kish Company, with the aim of maintaining and increasing gas production capacity.

The project is planned to be executed over a two-year period in two main sections: 11 wells will undergo acidizing operations, while the other 11 wells will undergo the complete workover, completion, and acidizing process. The primary objective of these operations is to increase the gas production rate and enhance sustainable production in Phase 14.

Acidizing, as one of the stimulation methods used to improve gas production rate plays a key role in this project. According to forecasts, upon completion of the project, gas production capacity from Platforms A and C of Phase 14 increase by 100% playing an important role in ensuring the country’s stable gas supply, particularly during the cold season.

It is worth noting that South Pars Phase 14 is considered one of the most important development phases of the South Pars Gas Field. The implementation of this project, relying on domestic capabilities, represents an important step toward realizing the country’s policies of a resilient economy and self-sufficiency in the energy industry.
