Successful Completion of BOSIET + HUET Training for Global Petro Tech Kish Crew

The course included Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) and specialized Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET), delivered through practical and interactive exercises using up-to-date equipment.

An Effective Step Toward Enhancing Safety and Operational Personnel Readiness for Offshore Environments

The specialized BOSIET + HUET training course was conducted over three days for the operational personnel of Global Petro Tech Kish Company, with the aim of enhancing their physical and mental preparedness for working in challenging offshore conditions. The course included Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) and specialized Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET), delivered through practical and interactive exercises using up-to-date equipment.

During the BOSIET section, participants were introduced to safety principles, offshore platform regulations, the use of life jackets and survival suits, first aid, CPR, and injury management. Through practical exercises, they also gained experience in emergency evacuation, responding to fire and gas leaks, and operating survival craft.

The HUET section was conducted in a specialized training pool, where a simulated helicopter cabin was submerged and inverted underwater. Participants were required to release their seat belts, control their breathing, and find an escape route under dark and disorienting conditions. This challenging and realistic experience was considered by many participants to be one of the most memorable training experiences of their lives.

The objectives of the course included enhancing physical and mental preparedness, strengthening rapid response capabilities, increasing self-confidence, and protecting lives in emergency situations. At the end of each stage, instructors also provided detailed and practical feedback. All equipment used during the training complied with OPITO standards.

Global Petro Tech Kish’s operational personnel are now better prepared and more confident when working in high-risk environments, with a greater understanding of how to remain calm and protect themselves and others in the event of an emergency. This training represents an important step toward enhancing the culture of safety and professionalism within the country’s oil and gas industry.
